BROCTON HALL GOLF CLUB
Three off the Tee - 25th March 2025 Newsletter
Hello there
Viktor Hovland is back in the winner’s circle after an incredible comeback victory at the Valspar Championship. This unexpected triumph marked a dramatic shift in form and fortune. “It’s like you keep drowning and you're running out of air,” the 27-year-old Norwegian reflected on his recent struggles after edging out Justin Thomas to secure yet another European win on American soil this year. Only 188 days to go until the Ryder Cup! 🙂
On Saturday, I dragged David to the Emirates, where we watched a fantastic match as Arsenal Women dominated Liverpool Women with a 4-0 victory. Beyond the great football, it was inspiring to see so many young children cheering them on - the future of the sport. It also reminded me of the incredible talent in our Junior Section at Brocton Hall. Nicki Bowen does a phenomenal job as Junior Organiser, and our juniors continue to make us proud, shaping a bright future for our club.
If any member has a wheelchair in good condition they would be willing to donate to the club, please let me know. Your generosity would be greatly appreciated!

Par for the Course
As we prepare for the drier months ahead, it's time to ensure our irrigation system is ready to keep the course in top condition. Unfortunately, this also means tackling necessary repairs. Meanwhile, the bunkers around the third green have been turfed, and sand will be added once the turf has had a little more time to establish.

Members Question
You are invited to send any questions in that you would like one of the Management Committee members to answer. Often a committee member is approached on the putting green with a question that might not relate to their area of knowledge. This is a way for you to ask those questions.
Q. Now that we are able to enter club competitions and submit supplementary cards for handicap purposes please could you clarify the situation of relief from all paths on the golf course. None of the paths in question are fully defined, therefore affording the possibility of individual interpretation.
A. In next week's newsletter.
